NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Section 53A-25-107 allows the State Board of Education to adopt rules for internal management of the School for the Deaf, Section 53A-25-203 determines that members of the State Board of Education are the Board of Trustees for the School for the Blind, and Section 53A-25-204 makes the Utah School for the Blind subject to all provisions of law governing the School for the Deaf.

 

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No written comments have been received.

 

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

State law continues to provide that the State Board of Education adopt rules regarding the internal management of the Utah School for the Deaf and the Utah School for the Blind, and therefore, this should be continued.
