This rule is authorized under Section 64-13-10 which authorizes the Department to make rules to accomplish the provisions of Title 64.

This rule addresses requirements regarding the transportation of inmates in order to provide for public safety and the security of inmates under the jurisdiction of the Department. This rule should be continued in order to prevent situations where injury and/or escape is possible while transporting inmates to a court, medical center, or on an airplane.
