This rule is authorized under Section 77-27-21.5 which requires the Department to develop and operate a system to maintain and disseminate information on sex offenders to the public.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any: |

The rule defines the registration requirements for offenders, and provides the public access to sex offender registration information. This rule should be continued in order to provide sex offender information to those members of the public which do not have access to, or do not wish to use, the Internet.
