Subsection 53A-1-401(3) allows the Utah State Board of Education to adopt rules in accordance with its responsibilities. Section 62-4a-403 requires adults to report suspected child abuse.

No written comments have been received.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

The rule provides necessary procedures for school district/school personnel to follow for identifying and referring suspected cases of child abuse. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
