NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION
Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:
This rule is authorized by Subsection 53-6-105(k) which gives authority to the director to make rules for Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:
There have been no written comments submitted to POST in the last five years in support or opposition to this rule.
Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:
This rule outlines career development courses and requirements that are beyond the basic training provided by POST. These courses allow officers to enhance their careers and prepare them for management positions. This rule outlines the available courses, and minimum requirements to pass off the courses. This rule is important for POST to provide these courses to all agencies. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
