Utah Administrative Code Updates

About the Updates to the Administrative Code

The Utah Administrative Code is an official publication of the Division of Administrative Rules, mandated by Section 63G-3-402. It is Utah's equivalent to the Code of Federal Regulations. The Utah Administrative Code is "evidence of the administrative law of the state of Utah" and an "authorized compilation of the administrative law of Utah" (Section 63G-3-701). The Division of Administrative Rules codifies changes to the Utah Administrative Code on a monthly basis. Since 2004, the Utah Administrative Code has been an electronic publication.

Changes in effect as of the 1st of any given month are codified together as one update.  The files below contain the updates currently available in electronic format on-line.

Information About the Utah Administrative Code Updates

Organization

Titles of the Utah Administrative Code are arranged alphabetically by the authoring department.   Titles are designated by an "R" followed by two or three digits (e.g., R15 is the Title of the code that contains the rules written by the Division of Administrative Rules).

Format Notes

The "Compressed WP Update" and "PDF Update" files include only the rules that were changed during a given month.   The "Compressed WP Full UAC" is an archive file containing all of the rules that were in effect on a given day.   The compressed files may be viewed directly using Windows XP, or with a utility like Zip Reader, 7-Zip, or a similar program. The content of the compressed files requires a word processor that can read WordPerfect 5.1 format.   PDF files require Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Authentication

The Division of Administrative Rules has generated an MD5 hash for PDF files, and compressed WordPerfect and RTF files (files saved with a ".zip" extension) that can be downloaded from this web page. An MD5 hash is, in essence, a signature for a file. You can confirm the integrity of the files you download by comparing the MD5 hash the Division generated with one that you generate. Various software packages are available that permit you to generate an MD5 hash such as MD5Summer (graphical user interface), winMD5Sum (graphical user interface), MD5SUMS (no graphical user interface), or File Checksum Integrity Verifier (no graphical user interface). If the hashes do not match exactly, then the integrity of the file is in question. Please contact the Division of Administrative Rules immediately at 801-538-3003 if the hash numbers do not match.
